The first feature film shot in Space
A Russian filming crew recently arrived safely from space where they went to shoot a movie.
The actress Yulia Peresild and the producer-director Klim Shipenko spent 12 days on the ISS filming some scenes for the upcoming movie “Challenge”.
This is the first time a feature film is shot in space. The plot will tell the story of surgeon that has to go to space to operate on a man who cannot come to earth because of his disease.
Everything from the crew arriving to the ISS, living there, to coming back to earth will be used in the movie that will try to show as many “real” scenes as possible.
A competition for applicants to participate in the movie was held, and Peresild and Shipenko were chosen. They are both very famous in Russia and have participated in many popular and high-grossing films.
Tom Cruise also said he may participate in a movie shot in space in the near future, and that he is very excited.

映画に参加したい者を募ってコンペが開催され、ペレシドとシペンコが選ばれた。両者ともロシアでよく知られており、興行収入が高いポピュラーな作品に数多く参加している。
トム・クルーズも、近い将来に宇宙で撮影される映画に参加する可能性があり、とても楽しみにしていると発言している。
